Kingsley Home Care team brightens the day for elderly patients at James Paget Hospital

A stay on a hospital ward can be a frustrating and lonely experience for too many elderly people – especially when they are missing out on a glorious summer.

So Kingsley Home Care’s East Norfolk and Suffolk Coast team, based in Lowestoft, came up with a bright idea to put a smile on their faces.

Kingsley Home Care’s Regional Support Manager Hayley Forbes and her team spend their working lives supporting mainly elderly people to stay in their own homes – so their idea was to bring some homely comfort to those in hospital.

Hayley said: “We put together 20 wellbeing bags with puzzle books, self-care products and a treat for people on the elderly ward at James Paget Hospital who might be in need of a mood boost.”

She presented the gifts to Paul Hendy, from the hospital’s charity team, who said: “We’d like to say a big thank you to the team at Kingsley Home Care for their lovely donation. These bags will brighten up the stay of older patients who may have to be on our Ward 12 for a little while.”
